  • Ms. Shirin Provat, Lecturer in Mathematics, now on study leave, is doing a Ph.D. in Computational Mathematics at Florida State University, the USA with a full-funded scholarship received in August 2018.

 

  • Mr. Sk. Reza-E-Rabbi, Lecturer in Mathematics, has received "National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship-2018" from Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Bangladesh, for his M.Sc. thesis work on “Unsteady MHD Flow of a Chemically Reacting Casson Fluid Past a Stretching Sheet with Brownian Motion and Thermophoresis Effects”.

 

  • A. S. M. Mohsin, Assistant Professor (History), Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities achieved Mirza Banu & Sirajul Islam Endowment Fund Award for original research in History. This news was published in the Prothom Alo on 15 May 2018.

 

  • A. S. M. Mohsin, Assistant Professor (History), Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities had been awarded Ali Ahmed Gold Medal, 2009 for obtaining First Class 1st position in the M.A. examination of 2009 in History. He received this award from honorable Chancellor Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid at the 50th Convocation of Dhaka University on March 4, 2017.

Mr. Md. Rashidul Hasan, Assistant Professor of Mathematics (on leave),

  • Elected President, Bangladesh Student Association at the University of New Mexico, the USA in April 2019.

 

  • Dr. Md. Sultan Mahmud, Professor of Physics and Head of Basic Science & Humanities Department (BSH) of University of Asia Pacific (UAP) has been elected as Member of Executive Committee of Bangladeshi Physical Society (BPS) for the next two years. The election was held in the Atomic Energy Centre, Dhaka on March 12, 2016, followed by a General Meeting of the Organization. It may be mentioned that Bangladesh Physical Society is a prestigious Society of Physicists in Bangladesh.
