Port and Airport Research Institute (PARI) of Japan

 

 

 

Undergraduate students at UAP can travel to PARI to pursue research (sponsored by PARI) on concrete technology, including the repair and durability of concrete structures, corrosion of reinforcing bars.

Two batches of CE students completed research programs at PARI.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

 

 

 

 

 

‘Technical Development to Upgrade Structural Integrity of Buildings in Densely Populated Urban Areas and its Strategic Implementation towards Resilient Cities in Bangladesh’ (TSUIB). 

The project aims to assess the seismic performance of different type of building structures in Bangladesh and suggest suitable seismic retrofit if necessary.

 

One lecturer from Department of Civil Engineering is currently doing her M.Sc. at Osaka University.

 

More faculty members and graduates of the department are expected to pursue postgraduate study and research at different universities in Japan under this project, which will end in 2020.

Indiana University- Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW)

 

 

 

 

 

-Exchange of faculty and staff for consultations, lectures and/or research activities and to provide study/research space and library privileges and to allow exchange faculty and staff to audit courses without payment of fees.

-appointing faculty, when appropriate, in between institutions as visiting faculty on a temporary basis. In such cases, the host Institution will pay the salary of the visitor.

- Encouraging faculty to develop joint research projects and invite colleagues to participate in conferences, seminars and round tables.

-Encouraging the development of short-term student exchanges for language and cultural training and other areas of mutually agreeable academic interest.

The agreement started on March 15 2013 and expired very recently on March 15 2018.

 

Department is looking forward to renewal of the agreement for suitable activity and exchange program.

Purdue University, Calumet, USA

 

 

 

-Exchange of teachers and students, joint collaboration in arranging workshops, symposia, conferences and researches

 

Transfer program: After completing three years at UAP with required results, students can move to Purdue University and complete one year of study to obtain a Bachelor’s degree. Students can continue for another one year to obtain a Master’s degree.

The agreement started on 12th February, 2012 and is still active.

 

One student from Department of EEE got admitted in their Ph.D. program in 2012. Department is actively communicating with respective authorities for further interactions.
