Notable Achievements by the Alumni
- "Open Architectural competition for Landmark Monument: Celebrating 100 Years of the University of Dhaka", 2020: Winner
UAP Alumni (Hosni Mobarak, Samin Rahman, Nishat Tasnim Oyshee) along with some current students as supporting participants (Tabassum Sultana, Mashqurur Sabri, MD Kaarim, Tahmidur Rahman Rafi) got the first prize in the national-wide open architectural design competition of 'Construction of Landmark Monument: Celebrating 100 Years of the University of Dhaka and Golden Jubilee of Independence of Bangladesh' Organized by the University of Dhaka in association with Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB). The winning projects will be constructed in the upcoming year.
- “Open Architectural Design Competition for the design of Office Building for Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission” 2019: Winner
Organized by BERC and Supported by IAB, this competition was a nationwide open architectural competition for finding the best possible design solution for the aforementioned project. An architectural firm, with all its team members as UAP Alumni, won the competition and is now preparing to build the project in reality. The winning group members were Ar. Mohammad Mahbub Hossain, Ar. Sakib Hossain, Ar. Samin Rahman, Ar. Nishat Tasnim Oyshee, Ar. Syed Rahat Hasan and Ar. Mithun Ranjan Majumdar, all UAP alumni.
- Open Architectural Design competition on Underground Substation for DPDC Competition: Special Mention
UAP alumni Sadmin Sadiana and Raiyan Islam Shantanu were part of the design team with Maverick Eye Architects to win "Special Mention" in the open Architectural competition organized by Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd and IAB
- Open Architectural design competition on "Green Office Buiding of RAJUK": Third Prize
UAP Alumni Ahsanul Haque Rubel and Kawsary Perveen, as part of the joint consortium of K2AH+Architects and Vista Architectural Consultant, Won the Third Prize of the competition organized by IAB and RAJUK. The lead architect of Vista Architectural Consultant is Dewan Shamsul Arif, a recurrent guest faculty of UAP Architecture.
- Selected architectural project for the "Exhibition of IAB Architects Works" for the Commonwealth Architectural Association Symposium, 2013
'Shamsul Haque Residence' at Comilla, an architectural project by UAP alumnus Armina Parvin Ela as a member of the design team, was selected for the above-mentioned exhibition commemorating the contemporary practice of architecture in Bangladesh.

Intisar Ameen Tyne
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowship, 2020-21. Tyne received the fellowship for her current research that focuses on gender-based disparities in Bangladeshi mental hospitals. She uses a multimethod research approach of physical-design layout analysis and behavioral observations in her studies.

K.M. Abdullah Lizu
Perween Rahman fellowship’ to conduct an action-based research on community lead design by ‘Asian Coalition for Housing Rights’ (ACHR) in 2015. Lizu joined the ‘Urban Partnerships for Poverty Reduction’ (UPPR), a development project by United Nations in Bangladesh, where he was conducting participatory workshops, mapping, analysis, design and supervising the construction of low-cost housings intended for people living in informal settlements of urban areas in different parts of Bangladesh. Eventually his efforts let him be suitable for the fellowship award along with 14 more from different developing countries.
