CSE Laboratories

CSE Laboratories

The department of CSE has specialized laboratories, all of which are assigned to different purposes. There are lab attendants as well as lab assistants for each lab. Also a faculty member is associated with each lab to monitor the overall work environment of the labs. Many of the lab facilities are pride of the department as they are recognized by external peers as is evident in the formation of Mobile Games and Apps Development Lab, which is facilitated by the Bangladesh Government authority, the patronization offered to only few of the universities of Bangladesh.

Detail of the Labs are as follows
  • Programming Lab I,  II-cum-VLSI Lab, III, IV, V

These labs are networked with each other and the other PCs of the department through LAN. A server room is arranged to administrate the proper functioning of the lab and to accommodate LINUX server, Oracle Server, Windows server and other sophisticated resources like a scanner, a high resolution digital camera, etc.  142 high end pcs are distributed amongst the labs along with heavy-duty printers. Each student is given separate account in CSELAB domain. Students have to logon to their respected accounts to avail the existing network resources. A student can browse from any PC free of charge for unlimited period. The Department has provided students with constant broadband Internet browsing facility.

  • Circuit Lab I and II

This lab is used to study the behavioral characteristics of the different electrical and electronic projects. This lab has fullfledged 5 equipment set-ups so that 5 groups of students can carry on with any electronic and electrical experiment and project simultaneously. Each equipment set-up includes modern Oscilloscope, dc generator, signal generator, trainer board, high-configured PC. This lab also has sufficient amount of all necessary electrical and electronic components including ICs (Digital and Analog), resistors, capacitors, inductors, transformer, etc.

  • Digital Lab

Digital lab has a number of highly sophisticated modern equipments such as trainer boards, 8086 microprocessor kits, digital IC tester, PC etc. Also it has a huge resource of digital and analog ICs and other electronic components.  In this lab students can design and implement starting from small digital circuits to 8-bit microprocessor. Also, they can acquire the technical know-how of 8086 microprocessor and its peripherals. Furthermore, students can easily interface any personal computer with analog world for adaptive control and automation. This lab has also full-fledged 5 equipment set-ups so that 5 groups of students can carry on any digital and interfacing experiment and project simultaneously.

  • Wireless and Fiber Optic Network lab

This Lab is equipped with both guided and unguided media. It has three wireless stations that are coordinated by a wireless hub. Optical fiber is used as the backbone to connect with main server of the university. Several other stations are connected by UTP internally. Right now there are ten computers in this lab.

  • Mobile Games and Apps Development Lab

University of Asia Pacific (UAP) is one of sixth private universities, chosen by Bangladesh Government to help develop mobile games and apps in order to catch up with cutting-edge technology of smart phone and its significant impact on our day to day life. A laboratory has been set up to facilitate this effort. Currently, the lab has ten computers with high configuration, Android smart phone and tablet – all financed by government. Also, government has given 4 air-conditioners, colour printer, ten UPS to back up in case of power cut. Other furniture such fan, chair and tables are also provided. These labs are designed such a way that any student, with consent from ICT, can use any lab, regardless of their affiliation. This is a stepping stone for further development in mobile games development and apps.

  • Project Lab

It contains twenty-five (25) PCs with network and internet facilities. It is intended for final year students to carry out their project works. However, students are encouraged to use this lab to develop hardware/software projects.

  • Machine lab

The lab has three phase machines (induction, synchronous) and 1-phase machines and transformers. The lab is equipped with high grade and good accuracy class measuring instruments like Volt meters, Ammeters (Analog and Digital), Frequency meter, Wattmeter, Tachometer, and Magnetic Conductors etc. The students perform experiments with machines and the results are verified by the simulation software like SLIM, MATLAB, P-Spice.

  • Physics Lab

Physics Lab contains Oscilloscope, Polarimeter, Malus Law Apparatus, Planck’s Constant Apparatus, Newton‘s ring Apparatus, Acoustic Transducer, Sono Meter, Tuning Fork, Spectrometer and other equipment. It is intended students to carry out their experiments related to physics course
