Welcome to School of Humanities and Social Sciences

Founded in 1996, the business school has come a long way, having carved out a niche for itself as an institution committed to imparting high quality business education in the country. The mark of this quality is amply manifested by the academic rigors as well as the market relevance of our three programs: English, MA in English (1 year) and MA in English (2 year)

Practical purpose is where we focus on

This programme is aimed at training students to be able to use the language for scholarly and practical purposes. It will provide an excellent preparation for any profession requiring a high degree of skill and comprehension in oral and written communication. The English major is a widely recognized and respected preparation for graduate degree in teaching, creative writing, translation, journalism, information technology, management and administration.

The Department of English, through its time relevant pedagogy and commitment to excellence, aims to become a national leader in classroom pedagogy, scholarly research both in the fields of literature and language, and service to the profession and the community.
